INTERNATIONALISATION OF THE
AUTOMOTIVE SECTOR

Within the contest of the programme to develop support for Lombardy’s productive systems, the Region of Lombardy has promoted the DAFNE project, making available resources to encourage the emergence of new productive systems, clusters and business chains and to reinforce those already existing by supporting them in international development, with the objective of strategically positioning productive systems abroad. In this context POLIAUTO - AUTO INTERNATIONAL chain was established, making the necessary changes in order for the automotive sector to compete at international level.

Project Objectives

  • To encourage the growth of the Lombardy automotive chain, thereby also contributing to the economic development of the region overall
  • To increase the foreign turnover of Lombard automotive firms
  • To identify new international clients and partners
  • To increase the professional skills of Lombard automotive firms
  • To create technological partnerships with foreign firms in this sector and to create synergies with foreign districts
  • To promote Lombard firms as suppliers of the major foreign producers
  • To increase the competivity of Lombard firms in the automotive sector in the European market by positioning them on the global market.

Expected results

  • Increase in orders and definition of new partnerships with strategic global firms
  • Operative recommendations on priority topics, through instruments specifically prepared by identified specialist partners
  • International visibility of the Lombard chain and SMEs belonging to the programme, through participation in Technology Days and events planned for emerging countries with the possibility of B2B encounters.
